The feathers – although they are a natural product – possess some measurable features which characterizes their quality.
The existing standards are different in the various lands of the world, but the quality determining parameters are the same:
-filling-power, clarity, fat content, feather/down proportion and oxygen-number.

The SC Lornem SRL expanded its own laboratory to satisfy every demand, where experienced and educated laboratory assistant can examine the feathers with the help of appropriate measuring apparatus and tools. The examination of the raw product starts when the feathers are purchased and continues throughout the different levels of processing. Before being shipped out the finished product is examined once more for the maximum benefit of the customer.
