What personal data we collect and why

Comments and Forms

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data displayed on the form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and the browser user agent to help detect spam. For comments, an anonymous string created from your email address (also called a hash) can be provided to Gravatar to see if you use it. The Gravatar Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment has been approved, your profile image is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to your site, you should avoid uploading images with embedded embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Site visitors can download and extract any location data from the images on the site.

If you leave a comment on our site, you can sign up to save your name, e-mail address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so you do not have to fill in your details when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for a year. If you have an account and log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser supports cookies. This cookie does not contain personal data and is removed when you close your browser. When you sign in, we’ll also set up multiple cookies to save your sign-in information and display options. Connection cookies take two days, and screen savers cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you sign out of your account, sign-in cookies will be removed. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie does not include personal data and simply indicates the item ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other sites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content on other sites behaves exactly the same way as if the visitor visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, incorporate third-party tracking, and monitor interactivity with embedded content, including tracking your interaction with embedded content if you have an account and are logged in site.

Who we share the data with

As the case may be, we may transmit or give you access to certain personal data of the following categories of recipients: courier service providers; payment / banking service providers; marketing / telemarketing service providers; market research service providers; insurance companies; IT service providers; other companies with which we can develop joint programs for the supply of our goods and services on the market. If we have a legal obligation or if it is necessary to protect our legitimate interest, we can also disclose certain personal data to public authorities. We ensure that access to your data by third-party private law entities is done in accordance with the legal provisions on data protection and confidentiality of information, based on contracts concluded with them.

How long do we keep the data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are kept indefinitely. This is so that we can automatically recognize and approve any subsequent comments instead of keeping them in a moderation queue. For users who sign up on our site (if any), we also store the personal information they provide on their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except that they can not change their username). Site Administrators can also view and edit that information.

What rights do you have on your data?
